Processors for Networking and Communications
Held November 5, 2008 in San Jose

Proceedings from the seminar are now available. 

On November 5th, The Linley Group held a Linley Tech seminar that explored two key processor trends. We discussed which high-performance applications are best served by multicore processors or single-core processors, what the performance tradeoffs are, and whether or not software was keeping up with the hardware.

The second trend was the development of specialized processors for applications such as broadband and VoIP. These processors are more efficient than general-purpose devices, but only when they are a good match for the application. What specialized processors are available and what needs do they fill?

Technical presentations from the leading vendors addressed these and other questions. Afterward, attendees had the opportunity to meet with the experts and our industry analysts.
